As this was our third child, and we already have one of each gender, we have everything we need. However, I believe that each baby should be cherished and celebrated. That's why we chose to forego a baby shower and opted for a Sip and See. This would allow everyone to come together and celebrate the newest addition to our family, since we waited until after the baby is born for the get together.

Everyone who knows me, knows I love planning and hosting parties, but I chose to outsource this one, calling upon The Perfect Party Design, based in Olathe. Planning an event, regardless of its size, can be a daunting and time-consuming task. Planning a Sip and See party requires special consideration for the comfort and well-being of the new baby and the parents. Timing is crucial; it's important to wait until the family feels ready to have guests around the infant, usually a few weeks or months after the baby's arrival. You'll also want to take into account baby's age and time of year (in order to avoid seasonal illnesses, like the flu, etc.) and if there are or were any complications that baby or mom endured. Some women in the fourth trimester may feel overwhelmed at the thought of having to host and socialize with so many people in one setting. That's why we chose to keep it casual. For our special event, we had guests drop by at their convenience during set hours, ensuring that we weren't overwhelmed by hosting duties.
