A baby shower is a time to celebrate and honor the upcoming arrival of a new little one, and picking a theme or color scheme is a great way to add some fun and excitement to the event. There are many details that go into making a baby shower perfect, from the decorations and favors to the games and activities.
You can choose a theme based on the baby's gender, such as a "little prince or princess" or you can opt for a more general theme such as a "baby animal" or "storybook" theme. And don’t be afraid to get creative - you can pick one that reflects the parents-to-be’s interests or the baby’s nursery. Decorations such as balloons, streamers, and tablecloths can all be coordinated to match, and you can even incorporate food and drinks to go along with it. Another way to make a baby shower fun and engaging is to have games and activities such as a diaper decorating contest or a onesie decorating station where guests can create a personalized item for the baby. You could also have a guessing game where guests try to guess the baby's weight, length, and birth date. And - don't forget about the food!

I recently hosted a baby shower for one of my besties, due in mid-September with a baby girl. (Her husband's family hasn't had a little girl born on their side of the family in over 70 years!) I love planning parties and usually pick a unique theme, however for this baby shower I opted for a more muted-pink color scheme with gold accents. I kept the decor pretty simple, using floral plates and napkins, a balloon arch and also had props available for photos.
Since the party was not during a meal time so I had a variety of snacks available for guests. Charcuterie boards are a wonderful way to feed guests while adding a touch of elegance to any gathering. The Perfect Pear Charcuterie is a delicious and visually appealing option that is sure to please your guests. Sara’s attention to detail is unmatched! Using a high quality wooden board or platter, she’ll arrange a variety of cured meats and a variety of cheeses. To add some color and texture to your board, she includes a variety of fruits and adds some crunchy elements such as nuts and crackers to balance out the flavors and textures. The finishing touches will usually include fresh herbs, honey, and mustard to complement the flavors of the meats and cheeses. However, Sara goes the extra mile by providing a custom message to match your event. The Perfect Pear Charcuterie is ready to impress your guests and make your gathering a memorable one!
Personalized cookies are another fav. of mine to include during parties! Not only are cookies delicious, they can add to your aesthetic AND they can also be used as party favors! Custom cookies can be used as party favors, which is a perfect way to thank guests for coming and give them a little something to take home to remember the special day. Huge shoutout to Jackie from The Sweet Shack for these adorable customized cookies and rosette cookies, that she made to match our color scheme and them.
One last decor piece I wanted to be sure to have, was some outdoor signage directing guests where to go. Remember, the most important part of any baby shower is celebrating the mom-to-be and the little one on the way. Have fun, and enjoy the special day!
