A Macaroni KID Guide to Farmers Markets in Gardner & Surrounding Areas

Shop the season's best produce and MORE locally-sourced foods!

By Brittany Marsh, Publisher of Macaroni KID Gardner-Spring Hill-Paola May 13, 2024

My family enjoys shopping at local Farmers Markets. In addition to picking up fresh produce and vibrant bouquets of flowers, it gives you the opportunity to connect with the farmers. Not only can you see their bountiful harvest, you can also inquire about their growing methods, and receive cooking tips.

Buying locally grown produce and supporting nearby farms ensures that money circulates within our community, boosting the local economy. Additionally, active farms contribute to the preservation of open spaces.

Farmer's Markets

If you haven't shopped at a Farmers Market before, you are in for a treat. Wear comfortable shoes, bring your own bags and plenty of water, and don't forget sunscreen. Some stands don't accept credit cards, so make sure to stop at the ATM before you go.
